Environmental activism can delay or even stop development projects in developing countries. Not all of it is wrong, but more and more of it is, especially concerning hydrocarbon-based power plants in developing (and developed) countries.

I live in India. With a population of 1.3 billion, nearly 300 million live in poverty, excruciating poverty compared to Western living standards.

India is in a race against time to achieve economic progress. In the past three decades its economy has grown by leaps and bounds, lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty. Yet it has a long way to go before it can become like nations in the developed West.…

Joe Biden, the presumptive Democrat nominee for President, recently unveiled his “new infrastructure and clean energy plan.” If enacted, it could have devastating and long-lasting impact on the American economy.

Why? The $2 Trillion Clean Energy Plan will essentially strip the American economy of its backbone: the conventional energy sector.

Biden’s announcement page declares that “he will make a $2 trillion accelerated investment, with a plan to deploy those resources over his first term, setting us on an irreversible course to meet the ambitious climate progress that science demands.”

An “irreversible course”? Regardless of whether the proposed “clean” technologies fail in the future?…

“To call the very foundational energy blocks of our society ‘evil,’ and then deprive developing countries of the same fossil fuels, is hypocrisy of the highest order.”

“Fossil fuels have single-handedly pulled the majority of people out of poverty in India, my country.”

Global warming skeptics like me often get accused of getting “dirty oil money” for writing in support of fossil fuels. Or we’re called “climate deniers” and told we must not be real climate scientists.

Many of these people turn their attention to my identity and not to the arguments I make. That is convenient if you do not want to debate the claims made in the article; you shift the attention towards the author and not facts.

The climate alarmists—those who believe that the world is headed towards an imminent climate doomsday—do this because they believe skeptics have their roots in “big oil,” which they think funds all skepticism of dangerous manmade climate change.…
