Relevance | DateSocial Injustice: Climate Activists vs. Nitrogen Fertilizers
By Steve Overholt -- June 6, 2023 No Comments“Now, climate warriors have arrayed their forces against manmade ‘chemical’ nitrogen fertilizers. The convenient collateral damage in this campaign is the natural gas required to produce this essential plant nutrient.”
Throughout modern history science-based increases in food production and the wealth it generates have brought astonishing reductions in population growth rates. Then came climate alarmism and forced energy transformation.
The farmers toil as many Americans relax and take summer vacations. The agricultural sector today represents only 1.3 percent of our population compared to 30 percent a century ago, producing record harvests through brains, sweat, and science (and CO2 enrichment and longer growing seasons). Yet many of them feel uneasy about the climate-change exaggerators who have them in the government’s crosshairs.

Continue ReadingU.S. Exit of the Paris Climate Accord: Reasons Reverberate Today
By Robert Bradley Jr. -- June 1, 2023 No CommentsEditor Note: On this day in 2017, President Trump announced that the U.S. would withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord. Formal withdrawal began on November 4, 2019, with notification to the United Nations. Effective one year later, the withdrawal was reversed by the Biden Administration on his first day in office, January 20, 2021. Six years later, the logic of withdrawal remains–and more so.
“Thus, as of today, the United States will cease all implementation of the non-binding Paris Accord and the draconian financial and economic burdens the agreement imposes on our country. This includes ending the implementation of the nationally determined contribution and, very importantly, the Green Climate Fund which is costing the United States a vast fortune.” – President Trump, below
THE PRESIDENT: One by one, we are keeping the promises I made to the American people during my campaign for President …. I…
Continue ReadingEVs: Political Pushback (151 Republicans vs. Big Brother)
By Robert Bradley Jr. -- May 24, 2023 2 Comments“Specifically, over its lifetime, an EV only has lower emissions than an internal combustion engine vehicle if it travels between 28,069 and 68,160 miles and remains in service for more than 10 years – circumstances which are not being realized today.” [4]
The illusion of electric vehicles as economically viable and ecologically blessed is part of the “magical thinking” and shared narrative of our day. Progressive environmentalists themselves are driving EVs in bad conscience. Thankfully, many members of one major political party here in the U.S. are on the side of the economy and the environment when it comes to transportation. May other members of other political parties join in–and in other countries.
The latest on EV politics comes from a Press Release from May 22, 2023, and it reads:
… Continue Reading151 House Republicans, led by Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), today sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan urging him to rescind the agency’s proposed emissions standards for light- and medium-duty vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.
