Heartland Climate Conference: “Best Science, Winning Energy Policies” (July 25, 2019)

By Robert Bradley Jr. -- July 9, 2019

“ICCC-13 will serve as a roadmap for further Trump administration efforts regarding climate science and policy, as well as highlight the voluminous scientific evidence that humans are not creating a climate crisis.”

– James Taylor, Conference organizer, 13th International Conference on Climate Change, Washington, DC: July 25, 2019.

Climate conferences by the Heartland Institute once could be dismissed by the alarmist mainstream as fringe affairs. But with President’s Trump withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord, as well as the US-led boom in oil and natural gas production, the Obama-era “keep it in the ground” philosophy is in full retreat.

Political problems aside, climate alarmism is in intellectual trouble, as dire forecast after forecast proves exaggerated, and false scares come and go. And those romantic energy transformation predictions? The reality of dilute, intermittent energies is little energy and growing grass roots complaints.

Timely Conference

The title of the 13th International Conference on Climate Change is “Best Science, Winning Energy Policies.”

Yours truly will be there listening to new voices in the debate, as well as the veterans (speaker list here). Alarmist scientists such as Andrew Dessler will no doubt say that there is nothing new here, and the same old faces will discuss skepticism, but I am reminded that the same old faces challenged Peak Oil and Keynesian economics when they were the rage. “One plus the truth equals a majority,” as the saying goes.

I am happy to be staying in the Trump International Hotel–and might just have that 36-ounce, 45-day aged Porterhouse at Trump’s BLT Prime to show my solidarity with the cattle offended by OAC’s “Green New Deal FAQ.”

As you can tell, I’m all in.

Thank You, Heartland

Heartland’s mission is “to discover, develop, and promote free-market solutions to social and economic problems.” Founder Joe Bast recognized the global warming/climate change issue as the Malthusian/Socialist virus it was long before it came out of the closet in February as the Green New Deal. And he acted on it in a vigorous way that has united the opposition to climate alarm/forced energy transformation.

James Taylor, conference organizer, advertises the event as follows:

ICCC-13 will serve as a roadmap for further Trump administration efforts regarding climate science and policy, as well as highlight the voluminous scientific evidence that humans are not creating a climate crisis.

Alarmists and their media allies are engaging in a climate collusion to keep the truth from people. Truth is that conventional energy, together with modest recent warming, are improving human health and welfare.

The scientific method will be on display in Washington, DC on Thursday, July 25th. I hope to see you there.
