‘Masculinity and the Metacrisis’ (going weird on climate)

By Robert Bradley Jr. -- May 28, 2026

“… both genders have an equal stake in human betterment and win by using the best energies. Climate change is not the end-of-the-world but can be anticipated and adapted to in economic and political freedom, not Statism. Common sense 101 will prevail over the climate fringe.”

Climate messaging is in crisis–and getting stranger and stranger. The fringe will not give up, and their interpretation of the ‘problem’ is going off the rails.

Today (May 28), DeSmog, Centre for Climate Psychology, and Resonant Man are hosting a virtual discussion on “Masculinity and the Metacrisis.” Geoff Dembicki, global managing editor at DeSmog, reports:

The rise of the ‘Manosphere.’ The Epstein files. Attacks on women’s rights under the Trump administration. Given so many high-profile examples of men’s abuses of power, it’s no wonder many men are questioning the meaning of masculinity in this current political moment. And when it comes to the climate crisis, the stakes couldn’t be any higher.

Continuing:

During this discussion, DeSmog Global Investigations Editor Matthew Green and fellow panelists will explore how the climate crisis is also a crisis of the modern man and search for solutions to both problems. Fellow panelists include climate journalist Amy Westervelt, philosopher Cadell Last, Resonant Man co-founder Jacob Kishere, and psychosocial therapist Indra Adnan.

The pitch?

Curious about the overlap between the climate crisis and the crisis of the modern man? Dive into Matthew’s Q&A with Indra now, and start exploring this issue’s relationship with nature, its connection to fossil fuels, and a new vision for the future of masculinity.

I’ll leave it at this–and maybe report on their report. Suffice it to say that both genders have an equal stake in human betterment and win by using the best energies. Climate change is not the end-of-the-world but can be anticipated and adapted to in economic and political freedom, not Statism. Common sense 101 will prevail over the climate fringe.
