Tide gauges refute alarmism: http://oi56.tinypic.com/11jsp5i.jpg
So does the global average: http://i49.tinypic.com/2mpg0tz.jpg
So do dozens of temperature reconstructions, e.g.: http://oi52.tinypic.com/2upvlvm.jpg
So do serious left wing intellectuals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n92YenWfz0Y
But at least psychopaths support it: http://oi54.tinypic.com/wrm3xc.jpg

@ Chip

according to the UN, as of 1995 the earth had roughly the same amount of forest cover that it did in 1950. In addition old growth forests are net emmiters of co2. It is only young forests that gobble up co2 whic of course would be an arguement for more tree plantations, and more advanced farming techniques in the third world which would allow excess farmland to be reclaimed by forests.

As for increased co2 levels, it has been found that a doubling of co2 would increase plant growth and yield, further taking pressure off of forests and increasing plant growth around the world.

I do believe that man has effected climate, and CO2 may play a very small part of this change. But man does not know enough about climate to point his finger and say this caused it. The climate on earth will continue to change, with or without man, I would suggest you learn to live with it. I would like it if you would just stay out of my wallet. As far as James Hansen goes, if he is found to have played with tthe data, the I hope he is fired and stripped of his government pension.

Dear Chip:

I believe that just about all of us at MasterResource believe that (anthropogenic) climate change is real but that climate alarmism is unmerited. The human influence has positives, not only negatives, and the 'market failure' is swamped by the costs of government intervention and 'government failure'.

The fact that different people have different opinions does not imply that all opinions are equally valid. Anthropogenic climate change is real. Check out the Keeling curve. In 1950 we had about 300 ppm CO2. Now we have over 380 ppm. The reason is not far to seek: We use more fossil fuels than in 1950; there aren't as many trees to absorb CO2 because we have destroyed so many forests.

I don't think it is really possible for anyone thoroughly invested in terms of their personal credibility in the promotion of alarm to back off of it. More over, as such a public advocate for policies, he would also be hard pressed to shift his position.

Not to mention the distinct possibility that he doesn't want to change because he finds alarmism amenable to his worldview.

The "Fee and Dividend" scheme is blatantly socialist, it openly advocates the redistribution of wealth.

He even uses the word "fair"!!!

Why does Washington D.C. show no sign of Global Warming?

If history is a hockey stick, then how can so many cities have escaped that history (even with urban heating not subtracted out)?
