Environmentalists are not demanding that fossil fuels should be conserved so that future generations can burn them. They’re demanding that the fuels never be burned – not because we’re running out of fuel but because we’re running out of environment. Alarmists claim that the immediacy of the problem trumps every other consideration – including (especially?) economics.
